How to use Barcode Generator

  1. Choose a supported barcode format and enter a value accepted by that format.
  2. Generate the barcode, scan-test it, and download the PNG.

Things to check

Check that the chosen format and value meet the requirements of the system that will scan it.

Example task: Label an internal item with an existing identifier

Choose a format your inventory system accepts and enter a valid item value. For an internal CODE128 example, use an identifier such as WAREHOUSE-07 only if it matches your records.

Check the result: Scan the output with the intended scanner and compare the decoded value. Generating an image does not assign an official retail product identifier.

Common questions and troubleshooting

Why is my value rejected by a barcode format?

Formats have different length and character rules. EAN-13 and UPC-A require appropriate numeric values and check digits, while CODE128 supports different internal identifiers. Choose the format required by your system and scan-test the output. Creating a barcode image does not allocate an official retail product number.
