How to use Remove Image Background

  1. Select an image and wait for the background-removal model to load if needed.
  2. Review the cutout and download the result as PNG.

Things to check

Results depend on the subject, background, and image quality; inspect edges before using the cutout.

Example task: Create a product cutout for a new background

Start with a clear image where the product is distinguishable from its surroundings. Review the automatic cutout and use the brush controls to refine unwanted remnants or missing edges.

Check the result: Inspect hair, handles, glass, and spaces around the subject. View the downloaded transparent PNG against a contrasting background before using it.

Common questions and troubleshooting

Why is the cutout missing hair, fine edges, or part of the subject?

Background removal estimates which pixels belong to the subject. Low contrast, shadows, transparent objects, and fine hair can confuse it. Use the brush controls to restore or erase small areas, then inspect the transparent PNG over both light and dark backgrounds. The first model load can take longer than later edits.
